We implemented microCMS integration for the YAWN YARD Kouri Island website.
About the YAWN YARD Website
YAWN YARD, planned and operated by Kashiwabara Hands Inc., embodies "another way to relax" where nature and people connect—a "garden you can stay in." It offers unique accommodation experiences that leverage each region's climate, landscape, and living aesthetics. The flagship property opened on Kouri Island, a remote island off the coast of Okinawa, in September 2024.
For the opening of YAWN YARD Kouri Island, the Japan Design Center (NDC) handled art direction, concept and naming development, and website production.
We implemented the news feature using microCMS.
The completed website embodies YAWN YARD's philosophy: through dialogue with a location's climate, landscape, and living aesthetics, it gives form to another way to relax where nature and people connect.
To convey the appeal of the property, all photography is freshly shot. The space harmonizes with Okinawa's nature and Kouri Island's landscape, capturing the peaceful moments of a stay through rich visuals.
NDC handled everything from naming to copywriting, inviting visitors to imagine their time at YAWN YARD through three perspectives: "garden," "dwelling," and "dining."
Crafting visuals and copy is an essential element of expressing a brand world. However, aesthetic appeal alone cannot deliver an outstanding web experience. Building systems that let users engage with the service stress-free is equally important.
The news feature we implemented is one of them. Spending time with nature's changing seasons is the appeal of YAWN YARD, and to stay comfortably while experiencing daily changes, timely information delivery is essential. By integrating microCMS, which can be operated intuitively, and setting up an environment where on-site staff can post news, we realized quick announcements tailored to the situation.
