EmDash Implementation & Support

The ease of WordPress, reimagined for the next era.

A future-ready CMS operation, free from PHP dependency.

EmDash is an open-source CMS that, like WordPress, lets you use the CMS core for free. We support everything from migration and new builds to secure operation and maintenance. * There are no CMS license fees. Costs for construction, hosting, and maintenance are charged separately.

We also welcome consultations for building new EmDash sites.

Struggling with managing WordPress?

  • Keeping up with PHP and plugin updates is a burden
  • Custom modifications are complex, and the scope of impact is unclear
  • Concerned about monthly costs after migration
  • Want to carry over articles, images, and URLs
  • Maintenance depends on a specific person
  • Want to keep maintenance in capable hands after migration

Sort out accumulated modifications and move on to the next CMS.

Features are easy to add, but as custom modifications pile up, sometimes only the person who built them can judge the impact of a change.

Liberogic has handled numerous investigations and recovery efforts for complex sites. We apply that experience to organizing the features to carry over to EmDash and designing for maintenance by your team.

WordPress: Challenges in modification and handover To EmDash: Organizing structure and operations

A free CMS, with the convenience of updating content from the admin screen.

A free CMS core, extensibility through plugins, and an easy-to-use admin interface. While preserving the appeal of WordPress, EmDash is an option for moving to a new technology foundation.

An open-source, Astro-based CMS developed by Cloudflare. It is a full-stack CMS with both an admin interface and a public-facing site.

No license fees for the CMS core

The core is free. Build and operating costs are charged separately.

Moving to a
PHP-free technical foundation

The CMS requires no PHP runtime environment. We design maintenance suited to the new architecture.

Standard features for site updates

Supports management of articles, images, and drafts. Required features can be extended with plugins or custom implementation.

The admin screens and features differ from WordPress. We design them to fit your update workflows.

EmDash official site

Consider the CMS license fees and the build and operation costs separately.

EmDash itself has no CMS license fee. Costs for construction, migration, custom development, hosting, data storage, and maintenance are charged separately.

WordPress

CMS license fee None

Consider construction, maintenance, hosting, and costs for paid themes and plugins.

EmDash

CMS license fee None

Consider construction, migration, maintenance, runtime environment and data storage, and development costs for required features.

SaaS-based headless CMS

Service fee Varies by plan and usage

Free tiers and pricing structures vary by product. Also check the costs for building, delivering, and maintaining the public site separately.

WordPress refers to the software provided by WordPress.org. It differs from the pricing of all-in-one hosting services.

EmDash is not always the lowest-cost option. Compare based on total cost, including required features, configuration, and maintenance.

Check the license terms for the EmDash core

Not just article migration, but also handover of features and operations.

We will investigate the existing site and clarify whether migration to EmDash is feasible and the scope of the rebuild.

Organize what to carry over, then migrate or rebuild
  1. WordPress

    • Articles and images
    • Design
    • Required features
  2. Research and organization

Check which data can be moved
    Consider alternative features and costs

  3. EmDash

    Import articles and images
    Reimplement screens and features

We also check the impact on URLs, redirects, and SEO, as well as the update workflow for editors.

Themes and plugins cannot be reused as-is.

We do not assume that equivalent extensions to WordPress are available. Instead, we consider alternatives or re-implementations of the features you need. We do not guarantee that URLs, design, and search rankings will be fully maintained across the board.

We specialize in migrating to and rebuilding with EmDash. If it is not a good fit, we will not push a migration.

01

SECURITY

With sandboxed plugins,
the design limits the spread of damage.

EmDash's sandboxed plugins run additional features in an environment separate from the core CMS. This "isolation of the execution environment" combined with "permission control" that allows only necessary operations helps limit the impact when problems occur.

Examples of permission control for sandboxed plugins
CMS core articles and data
Execution environment isolation
Sandboxed plugins run in a separate environment from the CMS core
  • Read articles allowed
  • Rewrite articles not allowed
  • Connect to external services specified destinations only

Note: Native plugins run in the same environment as the CMS core, so this isolation does not apply to them. It does not protect against vulnerabilities in the CMS core or execution environment, or against malfunctions within the permitted scope.

Isolated execution on Workers requires a Paid plan and additional configuration.

MAINTENANCE

Operating a new CMS?
Leave the technical side to us.

Our strengths are our daily hands-on experience with Cloudflare and Astro, and our operational experience running EmDash on our own blog, "Yuruborg."

Liberogic Maintenance Support
  • Updates for EmDash and Astro
    dependencies
  • Review permissions and settings, check plugins
  • Functional testing, verified in a staging environment
  • Backups, recovery procedures in place

The scope and frequency of support are determined by reviewing your setup and requirements, and are defined in the contract.

MCP & AI

From a prompt, drive article creation and updates

Connect with supported AI tools via MCP and manage article search, creation, and updates using natural language instructions.

"Find related articles" or "Draft an English version." We also design permissions and pre-publication review workflows.

MULTILINGUAL

Make multilingual publishing easier to sustain

Translated drafts are saved in the CMS, reviewed, and then published. The architecture avoids running translation on every page view.

We support multilingual publishing with translation costs and editorial workload in mind.

We operate it in-house and address the challenges of ongoing updates head-on.

We adopted EmDash for our company blog, "Yuru Log."
We continue to maintain it with backups and verification, while also adding features and improving operations.

The migration case studies shown here are from microCMS.

We build a workflow where English drafts are created, reviewed, and then published.

Bringing the expertise we use daily with Cloudflare and Astro to building and maintaining EmDash sites.

We use Cloudflare and Astro every day, and we have hands-on experience running EmDash ourselves. We apply both to site construction, isolating issues, and checking the impact of updates.

We apply lessons learned from real-world operations to your launch planning and maintenance policy.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is EmDash really free to use?

There is no license fee for the CMS itself. Costs for construction, migration, hosting, data storage, and maintenance are charged separately. Using sandboxed plugins on Cloudflare Workers requires the Workers Paid plan.

How are costs and timelines determined?

They depend on the volume of data, required features, design, integrations, and the scope of maintenance. We provide estimates that include post-launch operating costs.

Can I update articles in the same way as WordPress?

You can manage articles, images, drafts, and publishing from the admin screen. Screens and features differ, so we design the setup to fit your current editorial workflow.

Can existing articles, images, and URLs be carried over?

We investigate the format and features of the source system to determine feasibility. If URLs need to change, we design redirects and check the impact on SEO.

Can WordPress themes and plugins be used as they are?

No. We investigate the required functionality and confirm whether alternatives or reimplementation are possible, along with the associated costs.

Does migrating from WordPress improve security?

By eliminating the PHP dependency and restricting permissions, we can design a setup that reduces some of the risks. However, security also depends on implementation, configuration, and operations, so migration alone cannot guarantee it.

If we migrate to EmDash, do we no longer need PHP vulnerability countermeasures?

The CMS itself will no longer use PHP. However, if other systems continue to use PHP, those systems still need countermeasures. Updating and maintaining the EmDash core, Astro, dependent libraries, and the runtime environment remain necessary.

Can you also request version upgrades after launch?

Yes. We review the EmDash setup and support you through backups, verification, fixes, and post-release checks.

Can you also help with sites where the person who built them is no longer available and the implementation history is unclear?

Yes. For migration to EmDash, we investigate the source code, settings, and documentation to determine whether migration is feasible and what its scope should be.

Can you also consult on EmDash sites that have already been built?

Yes. We review the structure, source code, and operational status, then propose ways to maintain and improve your EmDash site.

Do I need to introduce AI to use EmDash?

No, it is not required. You can start by updating content through the admin dashboard. MCP is a mechanism that connects AI tools with the CMS, and it can be added according to your operational needs.

Is EmDash the right fit for your business?
Let's think it through together from there.

We'll review costs, ease of editing, and required features, and then
recommend a migration or rebuild to EmDash.
We're also happy to discuss migrating from other CMSs or building a new site from scratch.
